Which size do I need?
Small suits cats, toy breeds and anything with a fine coat. Large suits thick double coats, huskies, retrievers, shepherds and long-haired cats with dense undercoat.
If your pet is somewhere between, go large. The teeth work the same and you cover more ground per stroke.
How to use it without hurting your pet
Work from the outside edge of a mat inward in short strokes rather than pulling straight through it. Hold the fur at the base with your free hand so the tug doesn't reach the skin.
Stop if your pet is uncomfortable. Severe matting close to the skin is a job for a groomer, not a comb.

01 · Find the mat
Run your hand through the coat. Behind the ears, under the legs and along the belly are where they hide.
02 · Work the edge
Short strokes from the outside in, holding the fur at the base so nothing pulls at the skin.
03 · Finish loose
Once the knot opens, sweep the undercoat out before it ends up on your furniture.
Why this one
A brush moves mats around. This one opens them.
Slicker brushes glide over a mat and pull at the skin underneath, which is why most pets start hiding when they see one. The knot stays, the pet is unhappy, and you both give up.
Curved teeth catch the knot and cut into it from the edge instead. It takes longer than a brush and it hurts less, which matters more, because a grooming tool your pet will tolerate is the only one that actually gets used.

Questions
Will it hurt my pet?
Not if you work the edge of a mat rather than pulling through the middle, and hold the fur at the base. The curved teeth are designed to reduce the tug. Severe matting close to the skin should go to a groomer.
Small or large?
Small for cats, toy breeds and fine coats. Large for thick double coats and long-haired cats with dense undercoat. If you're between the two, go large.
How often should I use it?
Once or twice a week for most coats, more during a heavy shed. Regular short sessions beat one long one, for you and for your pet.
How much is shipping?
Free, to all 50 states, with no minimum spend. Most orders arrive within 7 to 12 days with tracking.
